This year, SemiGroup celebrates a milestone anniversary!

After more than 25 years in business, we’re stronger than ever. We sell thousands of parts and services, and serve hundreds of clients all over the world.

While the company started in 1998, the story of SemiGroup begins much earlier.

Join founders Scott and Chick on a trip down memory lane to celebrate our 25th Anniversary!

We appreciate our awesome staff as our most valuable asset!
They ARE SemiGroup!

1986

“At the time, I was a field service engineer working all over the U.S. and the world. This exciting time was full of once-in-a-lifetime experiences, including hitting 180 MPH in a Ferrari Testarossa while working in Japan!

Amidst the excitement and energy surrounding the industry, I saw how clients struggled when their parts failed or they needed support.

So, after gaining more experience and establishing connections throughout the industry, I started my own after-market semiconductor equipment support company.”

1998

The Alternative to OEM’s

“In the summer of 1998, SemiQuip Incorporated began in my garage in Frisco, Texas with just myself and a toolbox. I talked to many wafer fab managers looking for ways to support their equipment and lower their equipment maintenance costs. Soon, we’d grown to over 52 personnel!”

“In the early days, SemiQuip focused on field service labor sending field service engineers all over the world supporting various makes and models of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Throughout our history, Brian Graham, Vice President of Sales and Eddie Dumas, Vice President of Engineering, have been crucial to our success.

We would not be here without them and we’re so thankful for Brian, Eddie, and our entire awesome staff.”

Growing Our Family

“In January of 2001, I met my beautiful wife Jacqueline “Chick” and her daughter Annie. That summer, Chick and I went to the SemiCon West convention in San Francisco and toured the Napa Valley wine country after the show.”

“Before long, on Christmas Eve 2004, Chick and I were married, making for the best Christmas gift ever! Now Chick, Annie & I were officially a family and we welcomed our daughter Logan in 2008.

While our family grew, the company was changing, too.”

Becoming SemiGroup

Chick tells how SemiGroup came to be.

“I started working with Scott back in 2003 when it was just him and a toolbox.

At the time, SemiQuip focused on just field service. That’s when Scott received a call from a semiconductor fab in Fishkill, New York asking if he could put together a team to support their LAM Research tools. This project turned into a one-year contract that changed everything.

I ran the recruiting process, searching for top talent available to go to New York for several months.”

Jacqui "Chick" Burns - A Woman Owned Business

“After finalizing the team, we processed all the proper documentation and forms and coordinated travel arrangements and schedules. I communicated with fab managers to confirm timesheets and shared details of the work needed for each machine. There were so many moving parts and taxing challenges!

Once the project was complete, we sat down to discuss the future. I told Scott, “There has got to be an easier way”. He said we could do consumable parts, but it would take time. You have to find the right suppliers and then qualify the parts. I responded, “We have time” and Scott dared me to start my own company!

Not one to back down on a challenge, and with Scott’s help, we started SemiGroup. Our goal is to be the Amazon of semiconductor equipment by supplying more parts with less labor!”

– Chick

In January of 2006, Chick became the CEO of SemiGroup, a certified Woman Owned Business. SemiQuip’s original mission transformed as we became SemiGroup and offered our own lines of semiconductor equipment parts and consumables.

Now, after more than 25 years in business, SemiGroup is thriving with clients all over the world and thousands of parts and services sold globally.

With over 12,000 square feet less than 10 minutes from Dallas Love Field Airport, our expanded manufacturing and warehouse space allows us to enhance production and provide more products & services, including more turn-key solutions for your semiconductor equipment needs.

We are very much looking forward to the next 25 years!

Thank You!

“I would be remiss if I didn’t give Jesus all the credit for not only allowing me to be in such an awesome industry but also start a thriving company. Thank you, Lord for every way you provide for us, sustain us, and give us such wonderful gifts. Especially my most treasured blessings, my wife Chick, children Annie and Logan, grandchildren Micah and Wrenley, and of course, our SemiGroup family! They are what make this ride so enjoyable!”
